Filters and Facets
When users search across large content libraries, a list of results isn't enough. Filters and facets let them narrow down by content type, date, category, author, or any indexed field — without reformulating the query. More relevant results, less friction, better experience.

How it works
Define facetable fields
In the admin console, mark any indexed field as facetable. Category, date, document type, department, and region are common choices. Keyspider extracts values automatically.
Configure display and order
Set which facets appear on the results page, in what order, and how many values to show. Pin the most useful facets above the fold.
Users filter in one click
Facet counts update dynamically as users type or select. Applying a filter narrows the result set instantly — no page reload required.
Use cases
Document & knowledge libraries
Filter by document type (PDF, guide, video), date range, or topic. Users find the format they need without scrolling through hundreds of mixed results.
News & media archives
Facet by publication date, author, section, or tag. Journalists and researchers navigate large archives efficiently with multi-select topic filters.
Support & help centres
Filter by product version, topic category, or content type (article, video, step-by-step guide). Customers get to the right format for their level of expertise.
